WHY WOULD I JOIN THIS GROUP, AND WHAT BENEFITS DOES IT HAVE FOR ME?

  • We offer referee training & development for members.

  • We have a customer base of 7 different leagues in the greater Calgary area, and thousands of games over the course of a year.

  • That’s not all, we are expanding our referee pool and customer base to other communities as well. As a referee with our group, you are eligible to referee FIBA rules games in any community that we are active in.
  •  
  • We now have referees and customers in Calgary, Vancouver, Edmonton and Winnipeg, and as a member of our group you can referee in any of these cities with us.
  •  
  • We pay our referees as quickly as possible, generally on a monthly basis.
  •  
  • Game rates for each referee range from 30.00 to 78.00 depending on age group and number of consecutive games.

  • Basketball is growing in popularity and involvement, and we are too.

  • It’s a great part-time job, pick your games and location, get paid well and keep active.

For anybody with a minimum of 2 years basketball refereeing experience, and some training, we would like to talk to you.

 

Our customers range in age from junior high basketball to men’s and women’s 18+ leagues.

Some experience is a definite asset with these age groups. 

 

We do have a training and development program that will fine tune your skills and help you work towards a senior referee level. Through a combination of classroom, on court and in game mentoring, participants will  gain the skills necessary for a senior referees status. There is no ‘fast track method’ to this, it takes time. 

 

A typical senior referee has a minimum of 3 years of continual experience, and often  closer to 5 years. Becoming a good referee requires a long term commitment. As a member of our group we can help you with your journey in becoming an outstanding official.
