BRODIE REC LEAGUE

Good news for all of our referees who would like a longer season, more games, and possibly more challenging games.

We are working with this nation wide recreation league to provide officials for their basketball games in Calgary. This league runs for up to 11 months of the year, and 1 evening each week. The games are on Wednesday evenings and will start as early as 7:30pm ( 3 game evening ) and finish at 10:30pm. If there are only 2 games, then the first game will be at 8:30pm, and the last game will finish at 10:30pm.

This is not for everybody, as this league is for mens teams aged 18+, and for the most part, the competition level will be quite high. We will be looking for our senior referees to manage these games, and hope that you will sign up and make your own decision based upon first hand experience.

We took this on for a few reasons, and most importantly, because it will not interfere with the great customers we already have in the Calgary area. This league has scheduled their games for Wednesday evening, and our other customers schedule is still on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 4:00pm to 6:30pm.

The CAAA league that we work with has moved their tournament style league games to Monday and Wednesday from 9:00am to 3:30pm to facilitate our Tuesday and Thursday schedule. Since these games finish by 3:30pm they will not interfere with anything we do for the Brodie Rec League later Wednesday evening.

The CAAA league has also scheduled some middle school afternoon tournaments on Wednesday, but again, these end at 5:00pm and will not interfere with the Brodie Rec League schedule.
